What is a facelift?

Facelifts are facial rejuvenation surgical procedures that tighten the skin and underlying tissues of the face to make it look younger, more vibrant, smoother, and refreshed. Facelifts also work very well to remove excess skin and tissue around the jowls and neck.

How many different facelifts are there?

There are various facelifts, each best suited to specific facial types, particular goals, and individual desires. Some of these include the mini or short scar facelift (involving incisions in the hairline), the mid-facelift (with a focus on tightening the middle third of the face), a deep plane facelift (an extensive lift that also involves the removal of excess skin around the jowls), and more!

Does a facelift include the neck?

If your jowls sag and you’d like your neck to best compliment the results from your facelift, then addressing the neck can certainly be achieved. Results appear more seamless when the face and neck correlate, therefore a neck lift or liposuction can be performed in conjunction.

Is there a nonsurgical facelift?

You can certainly achieve rejuvenating results with fillers and botox, however, injectibles will never replace a traditional facelift procedure. Results from injectibles are temporary and must be maintained whereas a facelift procedure yields permanent results. Injectables may only be indicated for faces that have mild deflation contributing to their aging but they are not the proper treatment for faces that have aged as a consequence of descent or sagging. Only a facelift which is usually combined with fat grafting can properly treat an aging face that has moderate to severe deflation as well as sagging .

When is the best time for a facelift?

There is no perfect time or age for the procedure as everyone ages uniquely. Dr. Adib   typically performs facelifts on patients in their 40s ranging up to 70s.

Will I have permanent scars from a facelift?
