Top 5 Surgeries For Men

While plastic surgery used to be viewed as taboo and female-focused, more and more men are finding relief from pesky physical issues via experienced board-certified cosmetic surgeons like Dr. Adibfar and his class of procedures catered to men. Let’s take a closer look at the top five surgeries that are providing men with solutions to stubborn areas of their body while giving them more confidence and more motivation to go after their goals and ambitions.

Blepharoplasty

Believe it or not, one of the most common procedures among our male clients is blepharoplasty! This surgery refers to augmentation of the eyelids and is most used on mature male patients showing signs of aging. As we age, our skin begins to sag exposing hollow areas of our face. A patient will notice his eyes begin to droop and bulging bags under the eyes relaying an appearance that looks permanently tired and generally unenthusiastic. Blepharoplasty corrects this with a quick and relatively easy procedure that lifts the hooded eyelids—allowing them to look more open and vital—while also removing any excess skin and/or fat deposits under the eyes. For those suffering poor vision due to sagging skin, this procedure proves especially beneficial.

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia refers to a condition in men when they cary excessive breast tissue similarly to women. This could be a hereditary disposition, a hormonal imbalance or a condition that persisted over time due to a combination of the mentioned factors. In these cases, board-certified Dr. Adibfar uses liposuction and various contouring techniques to remove the excess fat, skin and breast tissue, and leave these patients with more masculine-looking chests. This common condition is one that severely affects the patient’s self esteem, making these patients some of the most satisfied after recovery, as they gain more self-confidence and are no longer hiding behind their clothing.

Rhinoplasty

As with women, rhinoplasty has always been one of the most popular surgical procedures. Rhinoplasty, or a ‘nose job,’ can be performed on patients of all ages, genders and ethnicities. While the procedure itself exists to correct any asymmetry, deformities or imbalances in the nose, each and every patient presents a unique case and challenge that Dr. Adibfar corrects in order to leave them with a more aesthetically pleasing nose. Some male patients seek surgical intervention because of a bump or exaggerated ridge, or they may have noses that veer towards one side of the face more then the other, or they may simply want to address the tip of their drooping nose, the options are endless.

Liposuction

Liposuction refers to the safe and efficient removal of excess fat shown on various areas of the body. Many men opt for liposuction to help with areas that they find exercise and a healthy eating plan simply does not change. Common areas for a man to undergo liposuction are the arms, abdominals, back and chest. The degree of liposuction varies from patient to patient and is typically accompanied by complimentary procedures like lifts. Once Dr. Adibfar has removed sufficient excess fat and/or skin, he then contours and shapes the remaining fat to give the patient a more masculine and attract silhouette.

Hair Transplant

Hair loss is a scary and disheartening part of aging that some men face at an early age. Luckily we happen to live during a time where technology has advanced rapidly to provide suffering patients with solutions and alternatives to daunting conditions such as hair loss.

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma therapy is a nonsurgical treatment that prevents hair loss and promotes the growth of new hair follicles. Patients with Alopecia find PRP especially helpful! Dr. Adibfar begins by removing a small amount of blood from the patient’s arm and placing it in a centrifuge system that spins the blood until the platelets are separated and concentrated. This plasma is incredibly healing and therapeutic. The concentrated plasma is then reintroduced to the patient’s scalp, giving the hair follicles what they need in order to grow new hair. Over time and with consistent treatments, patients will notice thicker, stronger hair and new hair growth in the injected areas. This is especially helpful for men with receding hairlines or men starting to notice bald patches on their scalp.
